The cure to all your competetive needs... Its like the bottel experiment.. where you creat a cyclone to get the water into the other bottel quicker :1

Yes it is a 60 mm restrictor. 20 mm would choke the hell out of that motor!

Yea we compete against countries from around the world. There are ~120 teams from the US and other countries and we almost always place in the top 5.

The old car, CHECK this out:
http://dot.etec.wwu.edu/fsae/viking30.htm
"The V8 engine and 6-speed transmission on Viking XXX are two items that make this car stand out. The engine block, crankshaft, connecting rods, and transmission case were designed and manufactured at the VRI by the FSAE team. The engine block was CNC machined out of aluminum. The heads were taken from a Kawasaki 250cc 4-stroke motorcycle engine that made peak power at 19,500 RPM. The 6-speed transmission case was machined in house out of aluminum, and features internals borrowed from a Honda 600cc F1 motorcycle. The transmission and engine are fully stressed members of the chassis and feature mounting points for the suspension."

I was hoping to be in WWU's VRI program this spring, but it will not be until summer or fall.

hey i'm doing Mechanical Engineering in Georgia. 2nd semester at Clayton State and then transferring to tech. Actually I'm majoring in physics(masters), then going back and getting the other classes i need for mech. eng. degree. I got about 5.25 years to go, but it'll be nice when I'm done.

There is no horsepower limit, we make approx 80 hp with the restrictor (I may have been wrong about the size on that)

There ain't a damn thing wrong with that. I went to UW for 2 years straight outta high school, dropped out, went to a local tech school, got a ------- ACCOUNTIJNG degree (Who the ---- wants to be an accountant?) so I decided to go back to my true passion which would be this ----.

If I would have done what you are doing, I probably would have saved $7000-8000. Oh well, live n learn right? ;)
