thats the first thing i do whenever i install win2k. it alwase seems to be on win 2k more than anything else.

2k and XP have problems with those. The 9.x products don't. But, they suck worse than the other two so it's a fair trade-off.
The messaging service is enabled by default on all NT4/2k/XP systems. On 9X OS's you have to use winpopup but it's not enabled or running until you launch it hence there was no reason for anyone to exploit it as a spamming tool. It was meant for inner network messaging before IM software existed. |

dude its either msn messanger or windows messanger tehre is a loophole in those 2 programs i gurantee if you are running either one of those programs and you are getting those windows, if you close them out they will stop.
