Computer Nerds Needed

Alright, so I run anti-virus, window washer, delete temp files and cookies and all that ---- like everyday. Every time I'm on the internet I get these popups that are text based and look almost like another small window or something. They have alot of different messages like block pop ups, porn ----, anything. Let me wait and see if I can get a screen shot of one of them. Sometimes I'll get about 10 an hour, and sometimes I'll get like 5 in one minute.
How the hell do I get rid of this ----?

Stealth-

It sounds to me like you're getting ip net sends. You didn't specify what OS you're running, but if you turn off the Messaging service, they'll stop. If you need help doing that, post up your OS info.

Get lavasoft ad-aware, or Spybot- search and destroy, this will get rid of any spyware/pop ups

My sister just put adaware 6.0 and window washer 5 on my computer today and ran a sweep, but this has been happening for a while and it hasn't stopped. The pop ups look really official like an internet explorer window. i took a screen shot and onyx is hosting it right now.

Are you running Windows 2000 or Windows XP?

Re:Computer Nerds Needed

Are they popping up like a warning window? What it is is probably the built in network messenger.

Open Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services
Search for Messenger double click it and set it to disabled as start up type and then click stop and click ok.

That should hopefully help ya out.

I tried all of that internet program bullshit, and then the one thing that fixes it is a guy building a home made turbo? ----!!! Where do you guys learn this ----?

I've been dealing with this ---- for a long ass time. I figured I would just have to live with it as a side effect of porn. haha.

I just did that thing and it's been 45 seconds and no pop up. ::crosses fingers::

Thanks for the help. ;)

Dude, I told you what your problems was, but I just didn't have the time to fix it. You have two troj viruses and another type of virus. Go to http://housecall.trendmicro.com/hous...start_corp.asp and run a scan. The list of viruses will pop up. The ones you have need to be removed manually. Follow the directions on how to get rid of them. It will be much easier if you can get your POS printer to work because then you don't have to write down all the instructions.

I would just like to say, that ---- works. I'm had the same problem after I formatted my pc. Before I used panicware and it did it's job, but this is far better cause I don't have to reload that ----. ;D

Did you fix it yet steve? If not hit me up, i got your fix

Re:Computer Nerds Needed

Disabling the messenger service is the fix. Those are IP based net sends. Net send is an internal tool admins use to give users warnings before rebooting servers. They can be broadcast across all computers on a domain easily. You can also block the port they come in on, but since you're not connected to a domain, just shutting off the service will cause them to stop.

2k and XP have problems with those. The 9.x products don't. But, they suck worse than the other two so it's a fair trade-off.

download firefox and make it your default internet browser and never experience popups again

Just FYI..

The messaging service is enabled by default on all NT4/2k/XP systems. On 9X OS's you have to use winpopup but it's not enabled or running until you launch it hence there was no reason for anyone to exploit it as a spamming tool. It was meant for inner network messaging before IM software existed.

dude its either msn messanger or windows messanger tehre is a loophole in those 2 programs i gurantee if you are running either one of those programs and you are getting those windows, if you close them out they will stop.
