i already have my OEM Cd player in that slot, the cd's go down there, but the actual head unit is in the normal location, I thought about doing that and going with an aftermarket stereo, but i like the way the stock stereo looks.

so extend the harness down to the point below the stereo and push the valve in the engine compartment to open in the winter and close in the summer andhte fan will still work ETC..

good idea. i was thinking about pushing the climate control back further into the position it is right now and running a basic on/off switch for the heater, then just mount the AFC over it. we'll see, i'll do it somehow, after the car is running again

This might be of no help, but what I did in my 5G civic is I took out the 2 center vents, next to the clock and hazards, and I made a piece of black ABS plastic contoured to fit the opening, then I cut out a rectangle just a smidge larger then my VAFC and flush mounted it in there. Its held in there with a -----ton of hot glue but its a lot harder to steal and it looks good too. Just a thought. I'll get some pics up after work.

Yeah, or mount it on your hood like the old muscle cars used to do!! I'm sure nobody would ever mess with it.

You know what would really be awesome? OK, gouge your eyes out and then have a plastic surgeon mount it in your face where your eyes used to be! You'd be cyber-AFC guy!!! That would fucken rock!!! You could use the rev and rpm gauges and make them look like your eyes. You would be a Honda uber-God!!
