Does anyone have any experience changing an automatic transmission equipted car to a standard shift?

Is it hard to get it right?

Looking into doing it to a 1993 Civic DX Hatch.

it shouldnt be very hard. get a manual ecu, the shift linkage, the shifter stabilizer thing, i think there should be a hole for the shifter, if not, make one. obviously you'll need a manual trans, im sure you know that or your a dumbass. i dont know if the axles will be interchangeble, but they might. sorry, ill just shut up, i probably aint helping

 

you also forgot the aspect of the whole clutch petal assembly and most times the brake petal is different on an automatic than a manual. the automatic axles are the same as the manual ones as well.

 

i have heard many peopel say they would have rather just sold their car and buy a manual.

thats much less work..

funny how when you buy a civic w/ automatic you pay 1000 more for it then your gonna pay another 1000 to 1500 to make it into manual...i would just try to sell and get a manual as well....

 

yeah, i forgot that you need to switch out the pedal box...i guess if you really love your car its worth switching it, but i would personally just sell it.

 

the pain in the *** part on a honda is the hydrallic slave cyclinder!! i did a swap on a vw one time it was easy clutch cable!! wahoo... have fun if u do it!!

 

why not use an Si tranny, so you can use a cable clutch?
