Re: Buying a welder, couple quick questions

Lincoln electric makes a damn good flux/gas welder. It is somethign liek 100 amps that me and a couple friends went in on. My first time ever welding and teh welds looks pretty damn good on some of the things I did. I have pics somewhere in the general discussion. I just finished my downpipe the other day tehre are pics of it in forced induction. The really large welds on it look like ass, but those were done by a muffler shop befor eI got the welder. The ones I did are where the flex pipe is wleded to teh downpipe and at teh flange on teh flex.

EDIT: here are some pics of the flanges I did on my exhaust with teh same welder...

After getting the gas, I don't think I'll ever flux again. I started making a cart with flux, and the ---- was falling apart during "torture tests". Mig owns.

lol, I have yet to see a 3 phase welder(yes, I know they do make them). :P 99% of them are 2 phase/240v.

What advantage does 230V offer over a 115V welder?

3 phase is industrial...there is no such thing as a 2 phase

Pardon you? I promise you there is such thing as 2 phase. I work with it on a daily basis. I don't think there is one single person on here with a 3 phase welder.

What country are you in? I'm 100% positive. 99% of the city I live in has a 2 phase/240v power supply.
