This is not a racial issue.
Taking food to survive is one thing. We are not saying people taking food should be prosecuted. But are you telling me that people taking TV's and 10 pairs of shoes are going to feed that to their kids?
Second, it is not Bush's fault. Their mayor and their own local officials dropped the ball on this one. They did not prepare their own city. They put everyone in the convention center with no way to get out of the city. Then, with no way to get them food or water, then all of the sudden they all start screaming at Bush? But thats not the point, the point is, Bush went down there, he saw what was going on and said it was NOT acceptable. Then, guess what? The NEXT DAY there was food, water, and an 8 mile long line of buses to take people away. And then just look at whats going on today, everyone is being taken care of now.
Basically, the officials of New Orleans let their own people down, Bush stepped in and fixed it. Like he usually does.

I think its the "---- the man (white man)" syndrome. even the black people who have good jobs and obviously are not street thugs or poor are looting.
is it a lack of morals? is it a mentality of entitlement those people have been feed for 50 years?

maybe the situation is alot worse down there than in the hick towns. When a tornado hits the water supply isn't as badly contaminated and people aren't actually swimming in overflown water teatment plants. I mean yeah there's no excuses for looting the ---- that they're looting but I think this hurricane did more damage than the usual tornado.
I'm not defending the looters just putting it in perspective...

i think this quote makes a good explaination.
The difference in it's simplest form is that in that situation, as well as others like Andrew, etc, the people affected largely were people that have a higher moral standard to begin with. They are people that 'can' and 'do'. The people largely in this situation are mostly people that 'can' but 'don't have to', and therefore 'won't'. They are used to living at other's expense and will continue to do so. It's just a little nastier now because 'give' has turned the fine line into 'take'. I' don't blame those people nearly as much as the society that created them and gave them that sanction to begin with. Socialism is awesome.

The way I look at it is blacks looting for tv's dvd player all the gym shoes and ---- = dumb ------s
blacks stealing food for survival = good people trying to survive
same with white asian middle eastern whatever
This whole thing hasn't showed me black people are bad but rather there are a lot of ignorant people who should have died in the hurricane regardless of color

no matter where ur at there is dumb people and there going to jack ---- anything they can get there hands on. down there a group of ***** were like gettn ---- and the every day normal BLACK WHITE MINORITY whoever saw them taking that ---- and was like no one is stoping them there not getting arested well then there like why cant i have a new tv why cant i have this and that humans are greedy it is just the ***** that make us all look bad look i think if i was in thas situation and i seen people jackin ---- id probubly go down to sears and get me a new set of craftsman tools but only because i need it to servive RITE!!!!!

I do not believe this is a racist issue. However I would like to punch George Bush right in the face because after 9/11 he was real quick to drop the ------- bombs, but he waits a god damn week to send help to lousiana and MS
Then, Rehnquist doesnt even have both feet in the ------- grave, and he is appointing new judges to the supreme court, while there are kids, women, and men dying in new orleans from dehydration and other ---- which he waits to send help. George W. Bush is a ------- moron
