So you can afford a Evo9 but you looking to take a shitty ass mirage and try to turn it into a evo. I say waste your money and let us know how it turns out.

Not only was this done like years ago www.lilevo.com

But you need to buy the evo9 cause if you try this for your self you will fail and ruin 2 cars.

One of my friend's has the evo9 MR edition. It's not a bad car, semi-quick even though my turbo'd hatch can eat it at a roll. But for the price tag you can go buy something of pimp status and still be quick. She paid almost 50k for her evo (was somewhere a little over 49 with taxes and crap) which is a helluva lot of money for a sub 300hp heavy ass car. She could've gotten a decent BMW with the money she dumped. Not to mention the fact that the car has been broken into twice now, someone backed an suv into and caused almost 3200 bux worth of damage, and the turbo has shaft play and boost issues with only 28,000 on the clock and the clutch already took a ----. Mitsu said they wouldn't warranty the clutch, and she's still fighting with them about the turbo issue, not to mention her warranty is completely void once she tries to put on ANY aftermarket performance part.
Stick to the old-school...evo4 style ftw.

Super Street's homo-rific magazine featured an Aussie who mated the EVO drivetrain on a newer Mirage hatchback, thing had to be pretty wicked.

Re: build evo4 or buy evo 9

though the LILEVO was based off the mirage 1 or 2 gens before mine. the body of the 98 mirage except for the bumpers looks similar to evos IV-VI. I thought about what people had done with the hatchback mirage but i can't be done with this one. I would need a evo engine from the IV to the IX because the timing belt is one left side of the engine and before it used to be on the right, even though they were 4g63's also but they were flipped and the trans is on the opposite side too it's on the right and before it used to be on the left. so eclipse's 4g63 would not work. including the 4g61

no i won't put the evo decals, i'll just take all the badges off except the mitsu badge. found a vr-x tans. but man they are pricey. if i blow the mirage it's alright, i still got the prelude

i'll keep posting how the build goes

already went through a clutch? damn!, thanks. i thought mitsu had backed off voiding warranties since sema helped put a bill for car makers not to void warranties if someone put aftermarket stuff.

thanks, evo 4 it is
