Bought my first motorcycle
I've ridden dirt bikes (250's and smaller) growing up, but I've never ridden a street bike before. I got a 1997 Honda CBR 600F3. It has about 18k miles on it, minor scratches, runs great. The guy had it listed at $3700, but I talked him down $400 ($3,300 if you can't do math). I wanted to get a 600F4 since that's when they started doing fuel injection... but I couldn't find one in the area for the price I wanted. I'm pretty happy with my purchase so far.
This is the picture the seller took... I don't have a camera at the moment.

I was looking at the power difference between the F3 and the F4 (fuel injected) and it's rated 5 hp more with EFI. I believe the F3 is rated at 105hp @ 12,500... a little over 400 pounds for the bike... should be fun.

thats funny, cause the low beam is out on mine, haha. i just roll around with the high beam, doesn't matter to me
mines geared down a bit and also has a full system and jet kit. with those mods, mines a little faster than stock or maybe a slip-on f4i acceleration wise. of course it really doesn't matter when you get into the twisties.
respect the bike and it will be good to you. you've got more than enough power to ---- yourself up. ride safe man!

yep you'll be very happy with the f3. i bought mines for 2k (i knew i got a great deal for it). had about 19k miles on it. FULLY maintence up and everything too.
ride the bike for awhile then i recomend doing a -1 front +2 rear sprockets. it'll throw off speedo but it'll ride on one wheel nicelly.
