Bought my first motorcycle

I've ridden dirt bikes (250's and smaller) growing up, but I've never ridden a street bike before. I got a 1997 Honda CBR 600F3. It has about 18k miles on it, minor scratches, runs great. The guy had it listed at $3700, but I talked him down $400 ($3,300 if you can't do math). I wanted to get a 600F4 since that's when they started doing fuel injection... but I couldn't find one in the area for the price I wanted. I'm pretty happy with my purchase so far.

This is the picture the seller took... I don't have a camera at the moment.

kinda sounds like you paid a bit much, my friend picked up a 01 cbr for 4k with 12k on it. Feul injection is the way to go.

I bet there's a bigger market down in CA, though. Weather sucks in WA, so not a whole lot of bikes up here. I checked KBB & NADA, I paid under blue book... meh.

Nice, I want one.

Hopefully after I sell one of the Hondas I can find one.

Looks good.

sweet bike, i've also got a 97 f3. you're lucky to find an f3 in that great of condition, most of them are all rashed up. they really are great bikes, you should learn a lot on it.

The only thing wrong is the high-beam is burnt out, so when you switch it on, the light will go out (dual stage filament). I used that as leverage saying I couldn't say for sure if it's a light bulb... could be a more expensive electrical issue (though I'm 99.9% positive it's just the bulb).

I was looking at the power difference between the F3 and the F4 (fuel injected) and it's rated 5 hp more with EFI. I believe the F3 is rated at 105hp @ 12,500... a little over 400 pounds for the bike... should be fun.

thats funny, cause the low beam is out on mine, haha. i just roll around with the high beam, doesn't matter to me 8)

mines geared down a bit and also has a full system and jet kit. with those mods, mines a little faster than stock or maybe a slip-on f4i acceleration wise. of course it really doesn't matter when you get into the twisties.

respect the bike and it will be good to you. you've got more than enough power to ---- yourself up. ride safe man!

yep you'll be very happy with the f3. i bought mines for 2k (i knew i got a great deal for it). had about 19k miles on it. FULLY maintence up and everything too.

ride the bike for awhile then i recomend doing a -1 front +2 rear sprockets. it'll throw off speedo but it'll ride on one wheel nicelly.
