I don't even know how to comment to that...only 10 more hp that a good reason...the zc is only 21 more than the d16a6?? why even swap out a motor for 21hp why not swap for 32-34hp

D16A6 1590cc 9.1:1 108 @ 6000 rpm 100 lb/ft @ 5000 rpm

ZC 1595cc 9.6:1 129 @ 6800 rpm 106lb/ft @ 5700 rpm

B18B1 1834cc 9.2 :1 142 @ 6300 rpm 127 lb/ft @ 5200 rpm

Just boost the D16a6 or swap to b on't waste time messing with a ZC

you wont be happy with a mini me. personally i think vtec blows ass but with a mini me swap alot of people expect a night and day difference but thats not what it is. basically i have a y8 swap in my 98 civic and the power oncome from the vtec change over is not what i expected you can here it but its not a sink you in the seat feeling that all vtec owners say their car has. i personally run a dual cam zc with cams and bolt ons and will very soon be boosted and couldnt be happier with the out come. while many vtec motors dont even start really kicking til 4-5500 rpms my cams have already been in their powerband since i stepped on the gas if its a money thing a mini me is cheap and an increase in power zc swaps are cheap and are so easy even my wife could do one if she wanted to.

i think im gonna do a mini me, simply because its cheap, adds good power for money, and will advance my skills on honda motors. anything to beware of when doing a mini me?

Eh, for the time and effort I don't think a mini-me is really quite worth it.. just boost it

since you said you got a write up from H-T it is pretty straight forward just remember to pull you oil control jet out of your a6 block due to the fact the vtec head has the jet in the head already and if you dont vtec will not engage other than that you will have to rig something up to get it to activated (ie: rpm switch or a relay)

Make up your mind, If you want more potential in the long run, get the B-series.
The benefits from a boosted Mini-Me vs a boosted D16a6, is not much really, if you want boost eventually, just save your money and just make it turbo.

If you just want Vtec to tell your friend: "YO YO YO I Gotz the Vtakz, Son" then that's another story, but it doesn't make sense.

The best upgrade would be a B series, if you go with a 90-91, it's OBD0 you don;t have to change anything, just get a donor car, and everything out of it.

The Best advise I can give you is, take it easy, make a decision and a goal, and make it happen, but don't start flip flopping around about what to do.

I say go a way differant direction.JDM f22b dohc you can use h22 hasport mounts. and then when you have it done and running right buy some forged pistons and turbo the ---- out of it.
