i would start with an ls. later you can add vtec head, then go turbo later still and in the end youll have a real fast car that you built on a budget ;D

well I turboed my D series and had fun and learned a lot but wanted more so i swapped to an LS and am finishing up a new turbo kit for it...maybe you just want to progress like that get your feet wet before you jump in...but honestly i wish i swapped to B first, but either one can cost about the same turbo or swap

take your motor out and put it back in that is the easiest :-X But in all honesty go witht he ls you will be impressed

If you are going to bother with a swap, do the LS, you can find complete swaps cheap, looking in the right place. 90-91 integra get everything from it, it will all bolt right in....You gotta find a good deal from a private seller, any engine place will try to charge you full price.

I got my JDM b16a complete, engine, tranny ECU, wiring, axles, shift linkage, and anything else I wanted out of the car for $900, after selling the tranny for $600 everything else was only $300 for me.
Same swap from an engine importer would have been easy $2500.

You can find an LS swap for less than 1000. I don't know where you live, but around here it's not that hard. I can get a free ls head and tranny today if I wanted. Of course you gotta know people that will help you out and call when something like this pops up.

i think i may just go zc dohc, simply for price reasons and simplicity. I have gained a lot of information last night and they seem like an easy swap, not to mention 130hp in a hatch. i got bout 600.00 i can spend, so if anyone knows anyone who has a good motor in the midwest let me kno. I need to get the ball rollin on this ----.

I guess the simplicity of a ZC and a complete B swap is really about the same. Do some more research on b swaps, ls swaps, and stuff like that. Honestly it's about the same. And you can find a complete ls swap for $600......

The ZC is a great engine, but the LS is even better. Don't be afraid, doing the swap is the same work, no wiring needed(well minor changes but the same with both), It's really the same.

Find a local forum, search in there. Go to car meets, ask around. Put a sign in your car windo, "LOOKING FOR AN LS SWAP". Stuff like that.

ls motors arent that much betterthey only have 10 more horsepower than zc on paper and a zc bolts in no mount bullshit shift linkage crap and converting from obd0-1 the zc is a straight forward bolt in affair could easyly do the swap in 4-6 hours.
