I am pretty sure that the combo of CTR intake cam, B17 Exhaust cam, and the 17's measly 9.7:1 compression have a major role in it as well.

I am personally running a B17 with the earlier ITR cams, and just a 4-2-1 Edelbrock 2 piece header. I guess the combo is better matched because I make a pretty decent amount of power more than him.

Basically he started off with the AEBS. My combo consistently made more power across the entire board, so we decided to try out the P30 intake laying around. Even with the same cam timing as we were using with the AEBS the P30 made more torque across the board.

Any insight JD?

So you tried the P30 and AEBS on both of your motors on the same day and the P30 made more torque than the AEBS on each motor?

It sounds like his motor is not very well sorted out, and I would be interested to see how they compare on your motor.

Yeah, it sounds fucked up. Not a reflection on the IM.

Lol, not quite there homeslice.

It wasn't the same day for the AEBS vs. P30. I can't remember the exact time line, but I think we dynoed the two intake within a couple of weeks of each other.

The odd thing is that he only has about 60K on his and I have about 125K on mine.

I guess I could try out the AEBS, but I really don't expect much from it.

Yeah, I haven't figured it out yet. I tell him all the time that it is ------ goofy.

His car doesn't really seem to respond that well to any changes.

Maybe If I get time I will give it a try on my engine.

SO is $140 the going rate for a AEBS intake manifold for a b16 head?

Ground kit.

Scrape/clean every pin in every connector and pack the plugs with dielectric.

Might be an idea to cut open the engine harness and see if any of the wiring is rotted out.

BTW, where do you ground the wideband? Is the battery relocated?

His car has a ground kit.

Holy crap that sounds like a ---- ton of work. It will give him something to do though.

I use an LC-1. The analogue ground is grounded to the sensor ground at the ECU. The system ground is grounded at the main ECU power ground.

I was watching the A/F with the digital data on Logworks during dyno runs.

now i know you guys aren't this stupid....but.....you aren't running factory TB'd are you??? I mean if u guys swap in IM that have say for instance 66mm opening and ur running that small 58mm TB.....of course there is going to be no change in power. The intake mani is being restricted.

I'm running a custom intake mani made by a shop i kno with a 65mm bbk tb to match the intake opening......my sohc vtec pulls much better in higher RPM's now and doesn't lag as much down low
