They have GPS/Cell connected version made specifically for cars. My friend has it on his RSX. I think it was 800 installed from the dealer. Dunno what it's called though...

Q: How long do the batteries last?
A: The GlobalPetFinder operates on 3 AAA NiMH rechargable batteries. Typical battery life is about 4 - 5 days in basic (standby) mode. When the device is in fence mode, typical battery life 1 - 2 days.

HMT satellite anyone?
sell our uber cheap HMT GPS locators to H-T guys for like $5 a month and only $100 initial fee, since I'm sure we could get a satellite built and boostin in SPACE for under $400

why dont we just drill cement anchors in the driveway and tie a chain around the frame every time we pull in, or put them in a storage shed and never ever drive again. The truth is, if someone wants your car bad enough, they will get it.
I usually dont even lock my doors, either I have a stolen sterio, or a smashed window and a stolen sterio. I dont leave anything valuable in my car ever.

^ but if you think about it, if your door is unlocked it's more inviting. Some people don't like to risk breaking a window and making too much noise.
Worst thing I've had stolen was some change in my center console and someone stole my license plate once (drug dealer who didnt have his car inspected, registered, anything.)

I know this doesnt have anything to do with gps or transponders, but i always thought this was a cool way to immobilize yer car. Sorry in advance if it has already been discussed..
