Build a NA engine that spins pretty high (depending on stroke, 9K would do, for the smaller strokes 9500) and then tear it apart at the 500 mile mark to check bearing wear. Replace and tear apart again after 1000 miles. That should tell all, and pictures are worth a thousand words.

A shitty RS is great for a turbo engine, the dense AF mix ignites super fast, and the piston drops way down super quick decompressing it before it goes bang. Good stuff.

Craig, just curious what the verdict was on these? Im about to pick up 2 B18C motors and wouldnt mind stroking one of them. :y

wat would be cool is one for a d series. The only way id buy one is if i was building a motor from scratch or if the one i had was fucked up.

any one figure out whats wrong with stroking a boosted motor?
HCI last year did a b16 stroked to a 2liter and boosted it, made ~750bhp, i have the article somewhere it was a good read.

not that i think of it. The GM ecotec that makes 1400hp is a de-stroked 2.2l ecotec..de-stroked to a 2.0l. the point was that the shorter stroke put less stress on the cylinder walls during combustion because of the rod/piston angle put to much force on the cylinder wall with a 2.2l

could be the same issue here.

We're going to buy a couple, try one out ourselves, and have a member here on the board who wants one. Not sure if we are going to carry these as a regular item yet. But will keep you guys posted.

Like jd has brought up the cranks need to be balanced within reason unless you want some serious problems. The demand for 95mm cranks imo just isnt there

The all motor crowd has already leaned to the k series world and really when you can make 600 whp on a 84x89 motor with a good manifold/head set up well no need for a bigger motor
