Re:axle problem
get a longer pole and MAKE SURE you are going the right direction.. remember lefty loosie righty tighty.... use the 4 foor prybar and go get this http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/produ...id=00944202000(atleast this is what i use) and it works perfect! I also use an old snap-on impact driver set with that bar to get all sorts of bolts off (crank pully ;) ) all in all i have about 6 feet of bar length and i use minimal pressure to pop that nut.

If the nut is seized on, then you may have to cut it off with a cut off tool, just be sure you have a replacement nut for the new axle. When you do get the nut off, and the front end apart and the axle out of the hub, you'll have to wedge a screw driver up in between the axle and the tranny to pop it out, once you do this tranny fluid will leak out, so be prepared. ;) i've never once had tranny fluid leak out when i changed an axle?????? |
Re:axle problem
maybe there was none in there and that's why my tranny was grinding :-X ;)

Re:axle problem
I broke two breaker bars on a damn axle nut. My friend loaned me an electric impact wrench and it came right off.
Go to wal-mart and look in the automotive section, they've got an electric impact wrench for like $20, then take it back when your done. Wal mart will take anything back. |
Re:axle problem
Thanks i'll go an get one.
