obviously noone in this thread hasnt taken an AWD DSM tranny out. its not actually any harder then taking a honda tranny out, theres just more parts to take off (T-case) but the job itself is very simple. and the tranny isnt really much heavier then a b series tranny.

good chance the release fork broke, happened to my friend. tranny def has to come out. also if there was an aftermarket clutch youre supposed to shim the release fork mount ball. basically you unscrew it and put washers behind it until the fork comes out of the hole in the tranny straight. its hard to explain on the internet. :P

Ive done it 4 times in the last 2 years. You are right about the weight of it. It prob about 20 - 30 lbs heavyer. Its not that hard to pull the trans, but there is alot of vacuum lines and wires under that hood. But if you can pull a honda trans you could pull a awd dsm trans.

thanks
im supposed to be going to look at it soon
i hope it's as nice as it looks in the pics

my personal favorite part of the car is it's all stock other they are pretty hard to find stock (well it's got spark plug wires and a muffler but other than that it's stock)
and it's got 3 sets of rims so i may just be able to sell 1 or 2 sets and get some parts for it for free
