Last year they offered it by phone early in the year, then started selling them on their online store close to xmas. It's how I got mine.

I don't see it listed on the online store, but it's very likely you can still get one that way. Call up and say you are a 38/m/bearded unix programmer and go from there.

Yeah, when I looked last year I think I remeber that being an option online. If I were truly in the market for a new one, I would totally use that line.



I want a newer T series with a nicer screen. The T61s seem to be going for a decent price on sleezbay, but I just quickly perused the auctions on there.

I might check out a T43 as well though.

JD you still sound like a ------- retard. You and your badly allocated DLLs would get laughed (and have been) by anyone who actually knows something about computers (dlls.on.nimp.org) just because at age 55 your trying to learn "the young whippersnappers computairs" doesnt mean you actually have. It's one thing to be able to spout some ---- on a forum its a whole nother to be able to efficiently and quickly diagnose and repair specific issues IRL. Stick to decade old hondas grandpa.

Yuriy, you say quite a lot of ---- but generate zero real-world output because you lack fundamental skills. I fix, design, and test equipment because I am now and always have been a hardware guy so YAH I'm a halfassed programmer. I am only trying because no one else is going to understand what I want except me, and I still know more than you. You think .NET is a language instead of a bunch of glorified libraries "because mommy said so."

Stick to drinking and roomate drama until your ***** finally drop, thanks.

These **** suckers called me today and told me that my d/c jack on the side of my computer was damaged physically and it would cost 434$'s to fix. They thought they could get away with this because I also sent in my charger witch was also broken.

But in reality I had bought another charger and had been using it before I sent it to them. So I told them they were liars and I had the proof and I wasn't taking their bullshit.

Now I sit here 45 minutes later on hold back an fourth with someone speaking loose indian/american and I think I might, if im lucky, get to talk to an American.

The Indian offered me a "great" deal on another computer with a 200$ rebate.

Hopefully by the end of today I will have a new computer heading my way by. we shall see

Its official, this tuning season I'm buying a thinkpad so I cant hit my HP with it.

look at the ------- paperwork again, I bought the 2yr warranty.

I ended up getting my screen replaced for free that time, but in the end my pc jack did come apart and my ---- would start sporadically running off battery even when plugged in to the wall. I'd have to let it sit and cool off, then charge the battery, then boot it back up and use it off battery.

I found the ac jack had been half *** repaired in the past and it only had solder gobbed on the top of the motherboard/jack joint and nothing was visible below. The joint had cracked completely and it was only sending power if it set just right. I couldn't get the solder to flow through either so I remote mounted my jack with jumper wires. ---- works perfect now.

i work for hp as notebook tech support and i recommend calling tech support and demand to speak to a case manager and stick to your guns

Thanks for the heads up. I tried that yesterday, and after being transfered 3 times, explaining my situation 3 times, and asking to speak to a manager 3 times, I was told that no supervisors were available and when they tried to transfer me the fourth time I got disconected. My original "broken" computer showed up today via fedex and if the ---- I sent it in for does not work I am going to loose all absolute controll.

Do you have a non indian/american number I can call and speak to someone that speaks english. It would help ease my ever growing frustration.

whoever said that the new thinkpads only come with vista is stupid, my buddy just bought a t61 all specked out it comes loaded with vista and you get a disk with will allow you to install xp
