as said before, the bottom ends are bullet proof, and thats not used a figure of speech. 300hp can be saught out on the stock internals.
you can easily throw 20psi on the stock motor. just upgrade the turbo and put an intercooler on it. redo the fuel management. I know my uncle put one in a sprint car a long time ago and was running around 400hp on nitro methane. 8) |

A friend of mine is in the process of running 2 T3 Turbos from the 85-86 Thunderbird Turbocoupes on his 93 Stang LX 5.0. I also have a friend who has an 87 Turbocoupe. The turbocoupe moves right along, hes bumped the boost up and its a strong running car.

2 Attachment(s)
Attachment 38747
Attachment 38748 '89 LX Hatchback...a testiment to the durability of the fox body mustang....over 300k miles on the body with a new engine, transmission, and rear end. It's N/A for now...but if it ends up not selling I might buy it off my brother and then the forced induction comes. 13.9 on street tires and 4.10 rear end...I think. (not the ones pictured) It's for sale by the way ;) |
Re:Any 87-93' 5.0 HMT guys ??
Now that I'm thinking a little clearer after a 6 hour nap...
low 12s isn't really that great for all that is done the that car..... ported/gutted/knife edged intake ported head very large turbo ( large enough to dwarf the SVO 60-trim ) 3'' DP and exhuast 900cfm intercooler non-A/C, roll-up window, LX 4cylinder COUPLE !! Light as it gets. larger remapped maf/vine sensor upgraded throttle body MT slicks !!! 2-step rev limiter aftermarket turbo manifold And lets not forget its pretty big I-4.. The stock blocked/head/intake D16Z6 has run 11.8 with FWD This car is almost equally ghetto, but runs mid 10's. http://www.turbostangman.stangnet.com/ |
Re:Any 87-93' 5.0 HMT guys ??
Yeah the older stangs seem to be much much tougher... ive seen countless newer stangs breaking tranny/rearends and driveline parts in general... But damn forced induction stangs can be some very fast/scary shizz...

I agree, but I don't have pictures of either car, the 93 Mustang is a really nice Candy Apple Red, I guess it was a limited color for 93 only. He also has some newer cobra rims on it. |
