alternative way to install head gasket?
Is there any way to take off the head without taking off the intake manifold?
i am installing a new oem headgasket and srp head studs, but am having a hard time getting the head off i have disconnected most everything...and wanted to know if there was anyway to do it without removing the im, or at least an easier way of getting the im off |
Re: alternative way to install head gasket?
I never take off the intake manifold. I know the head is a little bit heavy but get a couple of your buddies and you'll be able to lift it off the block :-\

You just unplug the electrical connections, easy.

Re: alternative way to install head gasket?
well i need to look at the one in the back of the im tomorrow with more light...but the one on the passanger side is held on by a brass nut, but thenut is kind of recessed into the head, making it very very hard to get to it with a wrench
