AC system installation question (97 teg)
I'm about install ac system in my teg. I cant find the post, but I recall someone saying that if I replace my O-rings I can change to a cheaper AC coolant/freon/(whatever that stuff is called). What type of coolant should I use once I have my system installed and vaccumed?
Thanks,
Nick

Re: AC system installation question (97 teg)
Yeah I don't think it's real, well the benefits, Put some oil in there, replace the or rings for safety. What I do sometimes, is I go to get one of those "free ac checkups" tell them it was working fine and all of a sudden it stopped. The only way to check it is to connect the houses and start creating a vaccuum. Then they will check if it holds vaccuum ot if there's a leak. Also they have to put some refrigerant in there to check it. Once they have done this and tell you you have to replace your whole system, they always do, go to Batozone and grab a can and fill it up.
Most times, this works.

Well no it isnt all that hard to put the parts in but to put it in to a vacuum and charge it correctly takes the right tools and knowledge, plus if you install it and have leaks it can be a bitch to find them and seal them up, if you are located in Ohio I could probably help you out
