Re:abaz crvtec whats up
----... I put the wrong piston in on my b-series comp calculator, I was all excited thinking I was going to raise the compression, guess not..
B20b block B18c (GSR) head B20b Pistons stock head gasket, Head has been milled down a bit, its right around 9.5 now, opposed to the 9.8 before with the ls/vtec. Oh and get this, I went to the machine shop today, and I had 2 bent valves in cylinder #1. Now this isnt the cylinder that cracked the sleeve either. The car had always had a slight miss, and I knew it was something in the valve train... So now it all makes sense, and also why my dyno numbers were a tad lower than I expected. It should be a 300whp no problem now... (hopefully) ;) eta is next week on this POS... Jeff |
Re:abaz crvtec whats up
Did you say the the B18 sleeves are thinner then the B20 ones? Is the B20 sleeved, then measured?

Re:abaz crvtec whats up
"I measured today, the stock B18 sleeves are 7.15mm and the B20 sleeves are 7.78mm "
B20 sleeves are larger (stock) than B18a/b's but are weaker due to how they are cast together, and not truely round like most open deck sleeved engines. Jeff |
Re:abaz crvtec whats up
Ah, I see. What would you suggest for a non VTEC B20, blockguard/pins (like you did) or other? Sleeving is not an option for me. I'll have GHD and some fatty 550s, 14psi? Tuned to perfection of course.
