any way to convince you to get a Z6 head for this set up? I kinda like the A6 block/Z6 head/ITB's combo.

Good luck though!

Ya he said it broke at like 25 pounds or something crazy like that. Turbo didnt make full boost till 7k or something of that matter

That would be nice, but the way a6 heads flow I wouldn't even bother. ;) Delta 272 cam and some high compression will help out nicely. Why even bother hunting down zc pistons? Just find an old d16a1 floating around and use the pistons from them...same dome height as zc. Some nice port work, good cam, high compression, z6 intake mani if it'll bolt on with at least an LS tb. ;) Be the most fun you've ever had in an n/a d-series. ;D

doing the same project but with a spare d16z6, right now i'm riding the d15z1 in my vx hatch
doing most of the work myself but i have friends to help me on certain thing such as welding...

p29 piston
zex 59300 cam, spring&retainer
obx 5 bolt cam gear (:S)
arp headstud
arp rod bolt
acl bearings
z6 intake manifold with a gsr TB
ex tranny with zc 3 and 4
p28 with datalogging tune with crome pro
i have the ostrich and the lc-1
edelbrock header with a 2.5" collector mod
2.5" on everything (magnaflow cat, magnaflow resonator 18" long, and cheap ebay twin loop) all the exhaust system is already on car, sound perfect!! not loud at all just a sweet deep tone

here is what the downpipe looked

and now
http://img2.putfile.com/thumb/5/12200165420.jpg

i think i'll take the d15z1 flywheel, d15z1 oil cooler as well as aluminum bracket

anyway, your project look good and with all the mechanically inclined people you know, i'm sure you'll get a good result!

Nice!

I have a blue 1990 STD hatch... came with the 4-speed as well.

I started out like you, just wanting a daily, then I swapped in a d16z6 and went OBD1, then I couldn't stand that any longer and built a turbo kit for it.

I can't just be content.

It sure is fun running 10psi in this small light car though. I'm loving it.

Good luck with the project!

Go 13:1 CR, drop some skrill on a real cam and bump the valve size up .5mm. Perform fisty on the head so you have power past 8500 rpms.
