Sounds like a guy getting his chops busted for being critical of the American government. They don't like it when the respectable, educated types voice an opinion. It does look like he associated with some sketchy *****, though. Any political/ethnic movement that's getting dumped on is chock full of radicals and extremists - Malcolm X is a perfect example. Given how things were then, I can't say I blame Mr X for hating Whitey. Yet Reverend Mr Martin Luther King, a reknown pacifist and peacemaker, associated with him semi-frequently.
