Re: 333+ whp B16a Coupe stock sleeves
It's the damn clearances that matter. When will people give up on a trying to find a company to make bearings just drop in and run forever?

Re: 333+ whp B16a Coupe stock sleeves
it seems like on most occasions the clearences are within spec.
about .002 is ideal from what i've read in that thread |

Re: 333+ whp B16a Coupe stock sleeves
i agree that we need a write up on doing bearing clearances. and where can i find the plastic thing that measures the clearance. i know that you slip it in then torque to like 45 foot pounds then pull it out and use the reading, but aside from that, thats all.

Re: 333+ whp B16a Coupe stock sleeves
unless you want to go over 800hp dont even bother changing them
400 hp is childs play for the oem ones |
Re: 333+ whp B16a Coupe stock sleeves
oem bearings own, period. and as far as stock sleeves, plenty of 500whp with stock sleeves that have lasted over a year. 300whp is stock block material. if you've got pistons/rods in a b series, i'd shoot for a minimum of 400 on pump gas. so what happens if your acl's are too tight, pay to get the crank machined? what about if they're too loose? take an ass raping and pay for more bearings? btw, plastigauge blows balls, precision tools own you, but it's better than nothing i guess :-\
