Moral of the story
JZ's are awesome stock engines, but they're nothing but expencive, overly hyped engines that have nothing more than a good set of factory pistons and rods behind them.
Put those OEM quality pistons and rods in a 3 or 3.4L VZ block v6 and you've got the same power output. Seems like it wasn't a couple of years ago gadget did a minor rebuild on a pair of 3.4L 5vz-fe's and wound up with 850whp through a 4wd 4runner transmission. More-so if you dip them in the v8s.

JZ's are good swap engines when you have too little time and too much money.

loki werd on the 2jz-ge + a rebuild being a better buy any day of the week thana 2jz-gte. But now you're seriously getting into no point of buying a JZ in the first place. you're spending more than the v6's cost and have far poorer performance. the NA JZ engines have ---- for a powerband, and rev about as slowly as a heavy duty truck engine. Plus you can tack on atleast 100lbs on the HEAVYEST v6, about 100lbs on all the auminum block v8's, and depending on how you configure it 150-200lbs with the earlier aluminum engines by the time both are NA-T.

Honest to god JZ's have so much reciprocating mass their horsepower VS time is complete dogshit. Plus they are honest to god 540lb engines when you turbo them. that's literally as bad,if not worse than putting some big-blocks in a car.

Im not a JZ hater. Im a realist. The simple trueth to JZ engine swaps is there is ALWAYS a better, AND more economical choice than buying a JZ. Rock a JZ when the vehicle comes with a JZ. Otherwise do your homework and if you want to say Toyota, youll wind up with either a v6, or a v8 100% of the time.

complex i know there's a supra with a stock one swapped running around. otherwise no i don't know anyone that has. to buy a crate UR block v8 is so far insane. they're all like 8-10,000 last I heard. even used engines are no less than 5K.

If you go on Supraforums in the other cars section there are a ton of builds like that. There is a shop putting a 2jz into a Prowler, a guy putting one into a fox Mustang, a couple 240 swaps, C4 Vette, pretty much anything you can think of :-\
