Get slicks if your going to be racing at the track. You will drop a full second off your ET with decent 60 foot times (high 1.7/low 1.8 ) on slicks. I got a boner the first time I launched on slicks and I didn't even launch that hard. Launching off the rev limiter is defintely nice, you don't have to wory about ----. ;)

With drag radials you have to figure out what rpm to launch at and what psi to run in the tires. Plus you will have to feather the gas until your going fast enough to put it to the floor. Evey track is different also, so it will change slightly. I'd only get drag radials if you plan on street racing.

i have solid poly mounts, they are hard as balls, but i can see how that helps.
SO would drag radials be a waste of money, compared to just geting slicks. and what slicks mount up to stealies??? lmao

just about any slicks will mount on steelies. if you have LS gearing i would go with 23's just to keep the gearing lower. for your power level they will be fine for redline launches. mickey thompson makes a 14" slick that will fit a honda steelie. have a set of 20x8 on some.

If he's not planning on busting the hell out of his current power level I'd go with 22". There's a local with a 248 whp SOHC (Si/EX gearing = LS, for all intents and purposes) and he runs consistent 7.5-7.6 in the 1/8th with really good bite out of the hole and no real suspension work beyond generic drop springs and KYBs.

Good mph's. You'll see 12's easily with 1.7 60's. I used 22" slicks mounted on lenso's (thanks d15bastard) and pulled low 1.7's, and my crx never left the line in a hurry... d15/11psi. My 20x8's were sorely lacking in the launch area.

22" ftw

Donnie the driving machince was cutting 1.7's off that old worn out 20's I bought when I was like 19 amazing. Oh and yes go with a 22/23 inch tire

MH is the cheapest company for slicks and they work alot with improt racers fwd so they are good peole. Order directly from them for cheapest pricing.

i cut 1.8 60 on my 20x8's spraying 100 shot out of the hole on my GSR with B16 gearing so your probably right 22's would work well.

You've got easy MPH for 12's.
Get some slicks and drop down a second easily.

Re: 1st time at the strip

so i looked at MH and i do have a queston about the tire width. I guess the stock stealie is a 8 in rim, can you mount a 9 in tire to that, i know with truck tires you can do ---- like that, but can you do it with a drag slick.???

To have the tires shiped its 274, do you think i can do better than that, or is that bottom of the line pricing there

I keep readin over the traction bar stuff, and it sounds like some of ya are saying i dont need that or am i misreading it, cause i got wheel hop out the ass.
