Re:1st boost experience

My first time.... I remember it like it was yesterday.. lol

My dad's friend bought a 92 GMC syclone. My dad drove it and took me for a ride. I think he said it was boosting around 14psi.. This was around 8 or 9 years ago. I can still remember how that thing set me back in the seat (I was only 10 then so it felt even more powerful then it would today). That got me hooked, ever since then I wanted to have a turbocharged car.

I had no idea how any of it worked (aside from the exhaust powered the turbo which sucked in air). Until one day I stumbled on this site, and through much help, and yes some "constructive" criticism, which is cool with me, I prolly deserved it. My boost experience took off from there.

Thanks, everyone at HMT that has offered any valuable information, and to those that have delivered parts on time... (not to point the person that doesnt...lol)

my first boost experience was with my friends gs-t. i never driven in a boosted car and he just took me for a ride. But you never get that feeling until you drive the car. When i actually felt that power come in at 2500 rpm i feel in love. I couldn't stop boosting! eventually he told me to get out of the car cuz it was his. But the best boosted car i've driven was an sti. Now that was fun. I can honestly say driving an sti was much more fun than driving my friends trans am or 350z. Its just that feeling of rush when the turbo kicks in you know?

My first boost experience was my brother's new at the time 1988 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe. I was out driving it while he was in Germany, I was suppossed to be trying to sell it for him. Anyway, I was pimpin' the thunderchicken at a local park on the lake. I was backing out of my parking spot and a friend yelled "do a burnout", so I let her rip. I was smoking the tires and not moving, then shifted into second and the car kept spinning as it pulled away...then I hear the wonderful sirens on the cop car that was pulling into the park, LOL. Got a ticket of course, along with threats of towing the car and blah blah blah. I wrecked that same car about 3 weeks later...DOH!!! Hey, I was 17. In college, I had an 86 Dodge Shelby Charger...that thing was a cool ------- car. Then after college I had an AWD 91 Eagle Talon TSi. Those last two are cars that I wish I still had. I sold the Talon to buy an Explorer cause I "thought" I wanted a SUV. Oh well, can't wait to get the civic pressurized ;)

My first boosted ride was in a bus for real but that doesn't count. The second was reading a book call "The car". Go read tht book. It decribes how boost felt through a kids eyes. But the real Boost was in a probe that I drove to Oklahoma. slow. Then I got really hooked when I went to ride in my friends gold turbo crx. I think you have seen it on here. I couldn't belive it. I was freaking out pushing myself into my seat, as the car was also, with a huge grin on my face. That tach needle buried to 8 grand so fast I thought that the car was gonna blow. After that i was like a kid that had never seen a car before. Oh man nothing like it. Kinda like the anticipation before you go over the first hill on a roller coaster but it was through the who ride and after it stopped. Oh Yeah.

Hmmm, must not be anything like the 70's movie 'The Car'
It was about a possed led sled that drove around killing people, lol. Super cheezy acting, but some funny parts.

My friend had just got back is all wheel drive 1G talon from getting a 2 stage turbo upgrade from Buschur racing. We were on a side road that leads to the main road. At the section where you get on the main street it is a four way stop light. well the light for us was green at the time as soon as we were about to turn this ----------er floors it taking this turn at like 75 didn't even act like a big deal then he wanted to turn down a side street so here we are at like 90 ------- making a right hand turn it was ------- scary I never thought I would tell someone to slow down but this fucker was just crazy. And when we were making these turns the tires were barely screeching. It was a crazy experience now I can't wait to get my Honda boosted.
