My buddy has a supersharged/turbocharged thunderbird supercoupe.. No noticable transition between blower boost and turbo boost.. The thing is like driving a rocket. Breaks traction at just about any speed.. Thats my first boost.. And dam it was awsome!

;D
Well I got my kit on saturday and it was not boosting ----. So I messed with it for a little while and I was satified that I got it on and running that day.
Sunday I went to a friends house and adjusted the wastegate rod. And now it is boosting like 5 psi..man I love it.
;D

Still need to mount the inline pump though.

My first experience was with a friend who had a gutted RX7 turbo with stage 2 upgrades. We went for a drive to an empty straight road where he stops in the middle of the road, pulls out a $50 dollar bill, places it on the dashboard and tells me if I can grab it while he's accelerating, I can keep it. SO I think, Cool $50 bucks, what should I buy with this... well all I can say is I didn't have any extra cash that night to buy anything 8)

Re:1st boost experience

my first experience with boost was turbod del sol. not even that fast, i just saw the car at a gas station, and noticed the FMIC peeking out, so of course i had to go bs with the guy. he was running a greddy kit at only 6.5psi or so... he claimed his quarter mile was only 14.5 or so (on shitty bald ass street tires though), which surprised me.

anyway i was about to leave, since many people were getting pissed that we weer holding up the gas station, but i told him i had to hear the car before i took off, hes like well go park your car and i will take you for a spin!!!

i was all pumped, when we got a break in traffic we stopped, spun tires all the way thru 1st, shifted to second, kept traction for about 1sec, then lost it, then shifted to third, where we had traction up until about 6000rpm, when it broke out again, i was pinned to the back of the seat as well.

i swear we went 80mph in 3 seconds, thats what it felt like anyway...

hopefully i will get my damn car turboed before next year! :)

Re:1st boost experience

well i'll tell my 2nd experience(my 1st was in a volvo turbo, and I didnt even know what turbo was, and the car was slow as ---- so it dont count).

It was when I bought a 3rd generation twin turbo mazda rx7.

2800lb, 255hp, rwd.. it was pretty friggin insane.
I was driving home from buying it, and after owning a civic, I wanted to see if it actually accelerated at over 80mph. and HOOBOY, when your in a car that does 120 in 3rd gear... its mighty intense.
I came to a stoplight, and was so excited, I thought it was green for some reason(dont ask) so I went, only to see 3 lanes of traffic barrelling down on me, so I ------- mash, and drift all the way around the turn(through the intersection) full throttle baby!! All those people were like WTF :o :o probly thought I was on crack, hahahha

Re:1st boost experience

My first car was a turbo Chrysler Sundance.....I had no idea what the heck this thing called a turbo was, just thought it felt pretty cool moving the needle from VAC to BOOST...I thought Vac meant it sucked all the air and BOOST meant it blew it out LOL....

My first real experience happened about 4-5 years ago. A friend of mine graduated from college a few years before me and landed a well paying computer job (before the 2000 bust). After a while she had maxed out her 401k and needed a place to put her money as well as a new car.

So I searched for a MkIV Supra for her. I found a 96 with a bunch of HKS goodies that had turned about 430hp on a dyno for a bargain.

A month later I came home from school to check this new car out. She took me out in the Supra, and I couldnt beileve all the stares we got in this thing! Anyways halfway through the night she asks "You wanna drive?" :D

I pulled it out onto the onramp to the freeway, and she says, "Floor it" I put my foot down on the floor.....I'll never forget that feeling, I heard the turbo climb in boost till we got past the 3k rpm mark.....and then turbo #2 Started to Spool!!! Damn I was kicked into the seat and that damn thing leaped forward, and I swear it just kept building speed, I was at 130mph by the time I was merging into the freeway, and that car kept pulling HARD :o. I had ridden in some powerfull cars, but Ive never ridden in something that gave me the same experience. That was solid as a rock all the way through the century mph mark, all you could hear were those turbos suck air past that firewall...

Now my fisrt real experience was last week(after I got the boost leak fixed :P)All I can say is that if 5 psi feels this good I cant waite to turn up the boost!
