137 mph in a civic

Word of advise, if you blow past a cop at nearly 140, just keep going.

The man was ticketed for speeding, reckless driving and having vehicle windows with illegal tint
adding insult to injury.

Re: 137 mph in a civic

It's not always easy to just keep it WOT, what if you never saw him?

I got pulled over going around 112 in a POS stock berretta. The cop asked how fast I was going. I thought: I am on probation, have ---- in my pocket, had drank exactly 1 beer (still enough to show on a breathalyzer), and have a conterfeit state inspection sticker, I am going to jail.

I had no ------- clue where he came from as he pulled me over going 35mph in a 35mph zone, and I just turned off road going 45 in a 45.

I went for brutal honesty and said flat out 'It depends on where you were officer my car is governed at about 112 and I shut it off at least 3 or 4 times on 422'

I was told if my car moved before noon the next day I was going to jail and told to leave.

I took my tt 300zx to 160, its crazy going that fast, looking back I see how stupid I was. Going that speed is like doing 80 and the other cars are stopped objects.

Yah, I took a friend's Integra to 140 according to the speedo, on a busy interstate near Nashville, so I could wake them up and scare the ---- outta them (wasn't my car).

I don't drive that fast anymore though. Especially in the tincan CRX.

Re: 137 mph in a civic

guess that's the difference in places with alot of cops / highway patrol and down here. cased down and called the cops on a pair of dudes doing 110-120mph in an accord one day for almost 20 miles. not because he was driving so fast. (ive blown by a handful doing 120-150+... they know not to chase) when the two nimrods passed me they clipped a van infront of me. passing people on shoulders, passing people on bridges by swearving into the little side area a larger car would not have fit in.
know what the highway patrol center (*HP) did??? transferred me to the sherrif's office two counties away from where we are. i had the sherrif transffer me to the nearest HP post, who then transffered me to my home city - which was on the way we were going. i told them where to send somebody to pick the dude up, they had a good 10+ minutes to get someone there which would have taken... 30 seconds for the super walmart dick to get there. noone was there so i gave up.

apparantly, it doesn't matter if you drive like an asshat in the state of alabama, aslong as you do it really really fast. :1

meh. done 160+ easy riding in a huge truck 155 in an old vette. lexus use to do 140-155. doesn't appeal to me as much anymore. fun when you're not a teenager anymore.

Meh, depends where you are.

Interstates that run through small bumfuck counties, they'll be waiting for you. When you go through a town like Courtland that's 90% poverty, they'll be happy to pull you over. Last time I got a ticket in one of these places, for going 11 over in a 70mph zone, and the court would not let me go unless I paid the ticket on my court day. This was news to me since every other normal sized city I've been ticketed in would have nice payment plans or give you another date to pay by.

Apparently, NC has a secret nazi breeding program, the means/ends of which they decided to use to patrol the highways.

Re: 137 mph in a civic

sometimes i'll roll race on the freeway and troll for some unsuspecting corvettes, mustangs, and hi-dollar euro cars. Usually shut down at about 120-130 because faster than that is just stupid and dangerous, besides i've already embarassed them while they view my tail lights.

according to the speedo on the del sol i put it vertically down perpendicular to the ground which is about 150-155ish if the numbers kept going.
Gotta love them LS trannies. still had 600-700 rpms left.
It gets ------- scary when your almost at redline in 5th gear.

Re: 137 mph in a civic

When the chassis lifts 1.5" inches and the wind noise suddenly goes away...Thats when you need to slow the ---- down.

Fastest ive ever been on the streets was 168mph on my dad's GSXR 750 (inaccurate speedos from what I understand...) and 172mph in a 996 twin turbo, which I wont be doing again, as it was ------- stupid (obviously not my car...) and you cover ALOT of ground at those speeds. I ran 5 miles in what seemed like no time at all.

I'm sure it's been above it, but not since I've owned it. Driving to work and home and wherever else, I have no reason to go that fast. I've been maybe 90 to keep up with traffic on the interstate, and that's it.

Maybe because I am grown up?

Ok, so 90 is ok as long as everyone else is going that fast, but 100 is bad.

I think he told you to grow up (because it was funny) and its naive to suppose that driving down the freeway in heavy traffic @ 65 miles an hour (or 90) is somehow safer than driving 140 miles an hour down the same road with no traffic, so by attempting to prove your maturity you succeeded only in displaying your naivety.

No, you are saying some off the wall ----.

I said I haven't taken the crx to 100. This is true.

I said I don't have a reason to go that fast, and that I've been 90 to keep up with traffic. Thus, I had a reason.

Since when was making a true statement an attempt to prove maturity? In that case, you're a fuckhead. Ooh, feeling more mature already.

Maybe nothing. He could have just been going downhill, with a wind pushing, and may have taken 5 minutes to get there. The bone stock, automatic integra ls made it there, according to the speedo.
