There's slim to no extra cooling to be had past 11.5:1.
Can you log coolant temps? Do you have det-cans? Can you fiddle ignition timing? These things are more important, IMO. |
Re: Yeah, its gonna fit....and make 22 plus psi
I am running it so rich because since I am rough tuning it right now, better rich than lean!
I am in the process of getting a probe installed in the intake. I will have a knock link on Dyno day Yes I can pull timing, currently pulling 4 degrees, but I did this automatically, I may not need to. I am running about 100-102 octane right now. |

Way to take on a project! Interested in seeing the graph you make on the dyno with this setup.

Very cool setup... lots of good work you've done.

Re: Yeah, its gonna fit....and make 22 plus psi
The only other cars I've seen with twin charging are, a Mini Cooper, and Grand Prix. The Grand Prix runs mid 9's all day at Stanton Dragway in Mi. Last time I seen him run he did blow a coolant line but didn't have any other problems the whole day. Seems like a sweet project, don't let ---- talkin' e-thugs get to you.

I bet your motto is "Don't talk about it, be about it."
Good work. |
Re: Yeah, its gonna fit....and make 22 plus psi
Note to everyone.....
If you run a rrfpr, you MUST use a clamp on the return line.... Even though the fuel return line for subarus is pressure fit, 110 psi is a tad much for it to deal with! The fuel return line popped off at 18 psi and I smellt ALOT of gas..... Needless to say I pulled over immediately and turned of the wagon.... I was one lucky fucker I didnt burn up. Gas everywhere but the turbo thank god. On another note, I can't seem to get over 18.5 psi.... I am hoping its the BOV spring. I increased the spring strength some by installing about 4-5 washers.. Its a Turbo XS brand. So, if I am stuck at 18.5, I should dyno at 265 whp, 290 torque..... If the spring thing works, then who knows what will happen..... |

Yeah, eventually I will go to a bypass system. Eventually.... I need the money, time and parts... I have some other issues I need to deal with soon for my brothers car and so will need to lay off mine for awhile.
