Default Y7 Rods

I was told if i was gonna turbo a Y7 on stock internals, that i would be bending rods with in the first month, i dont that would be the case since i am only planning on running 8 psi at the track and 5 for daily driving.

I was also told adding ne thing more then 30 h.p. to a d-series would also cause rods to bend.

i ran 7.5-8psi daily for 6000 miles...running 9psi now. waiting to get it on a dyno to see what hp i'm getting. w/b tuned with a techedge at 9psi. stock rods are good for about 200whp so i've heard. i'm thinking i'm at about 180-190whp now.

What are you planning to run built?

The rods aren't weak, but they aren't that strong either.

My D16Y7 flattened connecting bearings, but this was entirely because I did not pay attention to the detonation.

The motor lasted almost 5 months with pinging at 5-6 psi daily, with me hot rodding around.

That should tell you something.
