My turbonetics one doesn't spike at all. Even if I punch it at 6K in 3rd. Instant 10psi, zero spike.

I'm running a turboX inline from my coompressor housing to my deltagate and so far, from summer to now, it holds solid, never any spiking. This is the only boost controller I've ever owned and neither I or anyone else whos used it has ever had any problems. I've also removed the adjuster hex nut and spring to clean the inside, not sure if that has anything to do w/my apparent good luck but I guess if it aint broke don't fix it.

Re: Write Up: Boost Controller and External Wastegate top port w/pics
Good news: The boost holds straight across with no spikes.
Bad news: Tonight the diaphragm of the mbc lifted under hard vacuum.
I unscrewed the body fairly easily, so that might have been the problem. Good thing is that it closes in this scenario and runs the base spring psi so there is no issue with over boost.
This diaphragm type might need a reference source from the compressor housing and not the intake manifold. Some diagrams for this style show this.
I'll see if it happens again.

Whiterice's setup worked fine for a couple days before sucking out the diaphram.

On my car i used a purge solenoid and a cheap ebay MBC. For $10 I had a dual stage boost controller and no boost creep
I think most of the probs people have with boost control is shitty WG/ Manifolds

Yea, I thought that creep/spike were just a known issue for internal wastegates? I'm switching to external this summer and I'd hate to have to mess around with more fluttering boost issues hence why I even decided to swap to external. Until now, I've never even heard of external wastegates not delivering desired boost amounts.

Re: Write Up: Boost Controller and External Wastegate top port w/pics
so would this work on a turbo xs boost controller? I believe it might be a similar type, and i know i was definately getting different boost levels at different temps with the way it was hooked up before.
