Would it realy hurt if I squashed my downpipe about 1/2" to clear a/c ?

I haven't installed the turbo yet. Will do it this Sat. I might have to squash the dp about 1/2" to 1" only where the a/c compressor is in a 99' civic si. The down pipe will be little narrower like this = 0 instead of like this = O. Will it cause too much drag on the exhaust?

will probably be fine. you have to do what you have to do when it comes to a/c man.. you could try making a couple of bends in that pipe, but that all depends on your clearance..

A friend is gonna make it this Saturday. I might not need to do that but I wanted to ask just incase cause it's gonna be a close fit. I have some chrome looking heat shield cloth with a sticky backside to cover the a/c compressor to monimize the chance of heat from the dp messing up the a/c compressor.

I put my manifold and turbo in first, then cut my 90 degree bend after I had everything fitted in there. From my turbo to my compressor, I had exactly 5 inches, but I was able to clear my a/c by 1/4". My 90 bend isn't cut right at a 90, it's cut like at 110 degrees, so part of the pipe hung off the turbo exhaust flange, but I just filled that with weld. It's really hard to describe what I did writing it out, but just keep cuting the pipe until if fits in there. it will work.
