Default Is it worth it?

I was wondering if it is going to be worth turboing a b18b1 or should i just get the gsr non-turbo. I want to be able to beat a gsr but i don't want my engine to blow. I was wondering if running b18b with turbo and fuel managment and a msd btm at 8-10psi max is reliable. I want it to last a long time. Also with that amount of psi how much hp do you think i could get out of the motor. I was hoping for 240-250 at the flywheel. If you could estimate that would be great. Thanks for all the help.

turboing anything is always better. you will always get that response on this forum. A non turbo b18c could make some impressive numbers, and be reliable, but if you wanted reliability, buy a factory turbo car. I would turbo your b18b1 and keep it properly tuned and maintained.

Alot of different factors, but I'm guessing my 15psi will be about 300 at the flywheel. Go turbo. Anyone can spend money on a motor, you get respect for putting your own turbo together.

what i meant to say was if you want high horseys and reliability buy a factory turbo car. it's hard to make small engines n/a highoutput hence: no replacment for dicplacement unless you substitute displacement for boost.

i don't want to get a block guard but I will spend the money on engine management and fuel management. So will the turboed engine last if i take care of it, like change oil every 3,000 miles and don't cut to many corners on the cost? I need this car to last if i am going to spend 2g's on the motor and then 2 more g's on the turbo. Maybe you could tell me how long your cars have lasted. Also i Don't want to go stock car turbo because it is too expensive.

it could last as long as you want it to. just watch your a/f ratios. and high amounts of boost makes engines not last as long. 6-8 psi is what most factory turbo'd cars come with.

Ok so 6-8psi and watch air fuel. How much hp do you think i could get at that amount? Will i get at least 210 at the wheels?

b18b1 right?? i would say probably 190 or so. but with a zdyne you get lots of torque.

i would not classify a turbo'ed honda as "lasting a long time" car.

itll either blowup because of user error, or u will do something else with your car.

1psi = 10hp tuned well. 5-7 not.
