looking good keep working on it
but is it really worth blowing your motor to ---- over where you place a intercooler?
you would be better off not running a intercooler then having your ---- mounted inchs from the turbo and manifold

Dan, you don't have to get a new intercooler, stupid nog.
Get creative with what you have and find a different mounting position.
I've tuned a setup just like that, except with an ihi turbo. That ---- was so close it's not even funny.
After a few runs, that intercooler was an interheater.
I'm sure it won't blow up, as long as it's tuned well.
If you're still wanting to do it your way, then I suggest you run higher octane and/or some kind of IC sprayer for wot runs.

Re: The World is Ending... Sinister's turbo project inside...
from what I remember:
for that intercooler, you have to notch a rectangle out of the bottom of the bumper support.
you have to grind a corner of the radiator support for the lower inlet.
The charge piping will go up over the turbo next to the radiator and back.

after owning that same intercooler as a front mount for some years i will say they do heat soak a bit, but its actually still an efficient intercooler. on my buddeis .60/.63 t3 it works well. good luck with the project
to hopefully give you a baseline or estimate, there are people running 13s in 1st gen probes with that ihi turbo (its efficient up to ~15psi) and bolt ons. 2.2L n/a makes 110whp 130wtq. redlines at 6Krpm, curb weight is 2900

Re: The World is Ending... Sinister's turbo project inside...
Waiting on parts. Full set of piping, bov and fat FMIC will be in the mail from Japan to me shortly, I hope. I also have a flange/small pipe for my o2 housing for a 3" exhaust coming (it'll be a 3" open downpipe to start), so all I will need is oil lines and I still need an adapter plate, but those may be in the works soon as well.
