Why its nice to be my neighbor(2.5 RS turbo install PICS!!)
Well My neighbor is a cool guy and has a Subaru 2.5RS. So we decided to turbo it. Here is the pics. The first day we made the up pipe and down pipe. Wes (my neighbor installed the injectors and the S-AFC)

It worked as it should. Just need to tune it. He was really happy and it was a good time overall. He will be running around 6 psi after we get his WB working. Once again HMT North East owns you! |

very pleased with the way it came out.. very clean. if u saw it youd swear it was factory. now we have to get our hogs on the road. |

Lemme know how it goes...my g/f has a '02 impreza rs that she wanted turbo'd at one point, do you think it'd be much different to do? Also, what kind of injectors did you use and what size are they? She'd ---- herself if she came home one day and her car was boosted...score some browny points ya know O0

Turbo is an IHI RHB52 Turbo Coupe I believe
Injectors, and intercooler are from a WRX BOV is Bosch BOV flange is custom CSaddict Downpipe is custom CSaddict Up pipe is custom CSaddict Intake with recirc tube custom Hotrex gangster edition Oil feed line was from www.lsdmotorsports.com mandrel bends were from www.lsdmotorsports.com Apex-i S-AFC Autometer Phantom boost gauge Innovate LC-1 WB once it works |

the uppipe mated to the stock manifold. no turbo manifold needed, what u see attached to the turbo was the only mod needed to use the stock mani.

like the wrx I/C, carefull with the boost though, those engines dont like that much... (well the rods anyway)

He plans on running 5 psi, Those motors don't like much boost.

anyway yeah the stock motors are pretty weak but fortunately so are the trannies so that might give out before the motor does (similar to chryslersfix to their horrible auto trannys, just make the u-joint weaker) |

hha on the same boost level as a stock wrx. the 2.5rs would def be faster.

my buddy has a 2.5 rs with a legacy motor ej22 .... for some reason even with a aftermarket boost controller .. tried 2 different ones.. it wont boost pass 6psi ...well it will but its either 15psi with turbo spike or 6 no in between we fuct with the mbc's for like an hour or so .. do they have some sort of fuel cut off or some ---- stock ?

From point one I stated that the "stock turbo wrxs" are slow , I never said anything about the RS being slow or me being faster. As from what I can see my car is faster than hotrexs rocket ship on jackstands. So to recap I said the setup looked good and said the "stock turbo wrxs" are slow and I get E-thuged, I expected something gay from hotrex but not from noobs and respectable members ::)

stock wrx's arent slow, they just arent FAST. for a stock car especially considering the shitty tires they come with they are pretty respectable. i dont really like driving one though cause they feel sluggish/laggy UNLESS your ripping through all the gears. that and they are heavy and you can tell when you drive it.

looks good. Hot Rex did you go to school for welding or did you teach yourself. I'm retiring from the military yeah at 25 Y/O this month and I want to go to school to get my certification. I think its pretty easy with my mig then again it has taken me a while. I wanna buy my TIG next month. Any tips? Anyways nice looking car its good to see something other than honda. Stock 2.5 RS turbos are so slow I got two! LOL
