why do i boost 14psi in 4th & 5th gear and 11psi in lower gears. Also my car goes to max psi on any gear and then the psi drops 2 psi? this sucks. it's always done this.

 

not as much load on the engine in lower gears= less force to spool turbo= less boost.

 

ok..why do my psi drop 1 1/2 to 2 psi after the psi tops out?

 

does it hold there, or does it just jump and then drop back to your preset boost level?

 

the psi tops out and lasts about 1 to 2 seconds there and then it drops 1-2psi.

 

the psi would only drop 1 psi when i had the wastegate connected to the compressor housing. now it's hooked upto the charge pipe between the intercooler and the BOV.

 

what size is your exhaust and what aobut the cat...removed?

what manifold and boost controller do you use? you may have a small boost leak somewhere.

 

ok here goes: custom manifold, equal length.
2 1/2" mandrel bent exhaust no catalytic.
2 1/2" down pipe & charge pipes.
nissan 87' .60trim t3 stock waste gate 6psi.
turbo xs basic manual boost controler
turbo xs rfl BOV
5 1/2"x36"x3"front mount intercooler
apexxi vafc & dsm 450s'

 

i second projekteg, i think you might have a boost leak. double check your jb weld!
