Who has a Blockguard?? Are you overheating???
Cause I am. I have replaced the thermostat, flushed the system, hot wired the fan to constantly run, and I am still overheating. The radiator is fairly new and the cap. I also took the head off and moved the blockguard further down and that didn't help. I am still overheating. Next will be the water pump, but I can't see a water pump just stop pumping water. If the shaft is spinning, the impeller should be pumping water, right?
Anyways, I am blaming the blockguard. I'm taking that ****** out this weekend. Anybody have any luck with these damn things? I can't understand why all of the sudden after having it in there for months, it just starts overheating......Grrrrrrr

We didnt reuse that head gasket when you put it back together right? lol.. Hope not, sounds like a blown head gasket, but if you just replaced it, and its still doing it, I would check the radiator, if its clogged, and not flowing properly the car can overheat from not circulating, or I have seen in 2 cases (on nissans) from people using old coolant and not changing it often enough, that the coolant ate away the backside of the impropeller of the water pump, and their were NO BLADES! lol, its just a guess, and I have seen it before.

Yeah, its coming out. My radiator is only about 2 years old. Its also metal and twice as thick as the stock plastic one. I shouldn't be having overheating problems.
I used a new gasket. I forget what it was made out of, but it was recommended to me. I will probably change the water pump before I tear the head off again.

what type of problem can you get from a blockguard? I just got my head port and polished, and installed a blockguard with the reinstallation and my car wont start.and also a constant check e light. which sensor could cause that? thats thats the only thing keeping me from turboing.
can coolant flow through the block? ie are the holes on the blockguard lined up with the ones that feed the block coolant?
i have heard nothing but bad stuff about block guards... the only other options are posting, sleeves and block fill.

blockguard sucks and also the machine shop told me that the block filler also suck because it will over heated. that is the only thing i hate about honda the "floaters" the cylinder wall surrouded with anitfreeze.
