What's this? (On my RHB5 turbo)
Hey guys,
Short time visitor, even shorter time member.
I'm in the process of installing an IHI RHB5 (ripped from a 92 MX-6) turbo on my winter beater 91 Civic CX.
I was just wondering...on the intake side of the turbo, there is a 2 wire connector going into a cylinder. This cylinder has 2 tubes running to it (geez, I wish I had a picture)....
Any idea what this might be, and is it important to hook back up

them 2 tubes...does one go to the wastegate and the other to the compressorhousing? it's probarly a pressure reader that hooks up to the Mazda's ecu.
I say take it off and just hook up the wastegate.

I think that is a solenoide that the PCM has control over. I belive it is to lower the boost if the PCM see's a problem.
I just ripped mine off and ran the waste gate directly to the fitting on the housing. It should run some where around 6-8psi that way.

I have the same turbo on my hatch. It is for a factory control or solenoid. Do what they say, take it off and just run the vaccum line to the wastegate. Like he said expect anywhere from 6 to 8 psi. I get 7 with it, with a boost controller I can get it to anything I want.
