Default what's the diff between a gt17 and t25>

hi,
was wondering if someone can tell me what the difference between a gt17 and a t25 are? I'm guessing the gt17 is a ball bearing turbo? also heard that the t25 flows more then a gt17, so bigger compressor?
any info would be appriciated.
Thanks

I'm gonna guess that a gt 17 is alot smaller then a t25, and cost about five million dollars more than a t25.

in australia, the later model saab turbos ('95 onwards or something like that) came with the gt17's. there was something wrong with the fitting of them and most blew the oil seals under warranty, forcing saab to change them with new units. so for a while, there have been a few of these floating around e-bay and the likes for cheap. if you can pick one up and then get yourself a set of new oil seals, your set. i know of a guy who turbo'd an sr20de using one and he reckons it made boost at about 1700rpm to the redline, also made 130 front wheel kw on 7psi.

hi,
I was able to pick one up for 50$ ,very minimal shaft play,I was wondering if the parts from a t25 are compatable with it?.they use the same compressor housing (m27). I have a spare t25 I could use for parts if the compressor would fit.
Thanks for the replies.
