what turbo for 92 si with a/c and hf man.?
please help out my buddy has a/c which he wants to keep. we have a hf manifold, but the ihi turbo(probe) won't seem to come close to fitting. any advice out there as to what small turbo would fit. quick spool no intercooler needed. oh yeah 92 si hatch. any help would be fantastic.

I'm not certain you will find one smaller than an IHI that will make power like the IHI and keep AC... If you really want to keep AC, either get a manifold that will allow you to, or make a 90' elbow that connects to the bottom of the HF manifold, and direct it over to where the battery sits and move the battery in the back... so the turbo will sit in that space.. just wrap all the exhaust pipes with heat wrap or something.
That's about the only thing I can suggest. This would also allow you to have very little chargepipes since the turbo outlet would be close to the TB.. you would only need like 2.5 or less feet of pipe to do your chargepipes.. and the exhaust would just go back under to the stock location.
you would also want some type of small braket to support the turbo in the air... that's alot of weight on the end of a pipe. Just have a braked under to connect to the X frame or have one that bolts on the x member.

oh... it may also be worthwhile to have a small 300zx hood scoop or right above the turbo as to keep the temp down a bit.. not sure it would be absolutly required, but seems like a good idea.
