its a t3. i guess. anyone know anything else about it by lookin at it? is that some kinda odd exhaust outlet?

It looks like a turbo from a Volvo or Saab (A/R .42/.4. The internal wastegate flap should have three holes in which you would insert three studs. A flange which is usually a part of the exhaust would be bolted to it. The exhaust end that goes over the outlet is flared for a snug fit. Look at any old turbo (late 80's early 90's) Saab 900 or 9000 or a Volvo 740, and you'll see what I'm talking about.

FYI...I'm using one of those internal wastegate on my turbo right now.

 

can that whole mess just be replaced with a standard 5bolt weld on flange?

Yes. That's an easy conversion to an external wastegate setup.

the question was answered. volvo or saab t3. most like a .42/.48
the cold a/r stamp should be inside the compressor outlet. the hot on the turbine housing.
does the turbine inlet have the volvo inset circle?
