but eclipses redirect blow off back into the intake so compressor surge isn't a problem.

A bov is like having a water cooled turbo. Is it a 100% have to have kinda thing ?? No, but it will make the turbo last longer..

Just think, a lot of people pay $150 for a turbo, then $200+ for named brand BOVs !!!

They could save there $200+ and just buy another "spare" turbo, a turbo that's in desent shape isn't going to die in 15K miles from compressor surge and will most likely never die ( from compressor surge )as long as you never just dump your foot off the gas.

BOV cause more people to loose power ( b/c most factory ones leak after 10secs on driving ), then turbos that they save.

But they sound kinda neat, so why not just run one, right ?

How can you not drop your foot off the gas, what if you have to stop all of a sudden. You always have to abruptly take your foot off the gas. Why not just play it safe and get a cheap 1g or 2g stock DSM BOV?

I like the idea of saving my turbo from ANY possible problems I can. It might not matter much if your running a $25 junkyard turbo, but if you're running a $600+ hybrid with polished housings and ----, you might want the extra piece of mind.

blowoff/bypass valves are $6-10 at the junkyards. If you want to go cheaper, do the radiator cap deal from the other post!

I have a BOV not saying don't get one, but just saying its not like charge piping ( you don't HAVE TO HAVE ONE ).

As you could imagine the buick regal guys don't do a lot of auto-Xing, and most are pretty good with "left foot braking" b/c they do it all the time launching the car.

Wow, never thought of the radiator cap... ummm....

And you guys are right junkyard BOVs are cheap, they ALL fit into most tool boxes...
