hey Guys i'm new here. Figured i'd start with a thread of my Build already in progress.
The name is Jon aka "user name" for obvious reasons if u have ever seen that damn low budget Chris Rock movie :-[. lol well it's started as a lil $ race street car and is now turning into a SFWD car for 09. ( because i am never happy with the power for too long). stats: ~BODY~ 1997 civic CX hatch that i got off an old lady in 02 for $2100 in Atlanta. VSM Silver ~Motor and plans~ GSR 84.5mm Darton sleeved and copper o-ringed block 9.8:1 CP pistons stock Ls crank Eagle big bolt Ls rods GE headstuds Oil squiter block offs ( they hit with the use of Ls rods and crank in a GSR) Honda oil/water pump, oil filter, gaskets,timing belt etc B16 head slight port n polish Crower valvetrain CTR cams Stock camgears ( figured i's save a lil $ and less bling) Victor X intake manifold Skunk2 70mm TB custom -10an breather fittings on the Valve Cover. Tranny is a GSR with ITR final/ LSD diff Clutch is a Competition Clutch Stage 5 (4 puc sprung with a Dual diafram PP) Fidanza lightweight flywheel ( lol, i can't remember the weight , less than 12lbs , more than 8lbs ) lol OEM axels for now till they won't hold anymore. So far preloading FTW!! :6 ~Turbo Kit~ MB Racing T3 topmount turbo manifold Tial 40mm gate Full-Race T67ho turbocharger ( with plans of a BW S366 upgrade). 3" custom SS downpipe to full 3" exhaust to a Vibrent 3" pan muffler in stelth black to not get ---- from the "fuzz". Tial 50mm BOV ( in uber cute Purple for the ladies ;)) All Alum cooler piping (3" cold side/ 2.5" hot side ) Precision 825hp core intercooler ( overkill , i know i know.. i got a good price on it ) ~Fuel and misc ----~ 1200cc Precision injectors dual intank 255hp fuel pumps (people get scared and run for the bushes or yell "racecar" when they see a sump. ::)) BDL fuel rail w/ Areomotive fuel pressue Reg Fulidyne Radiator Skunk2 short throw shifter Endyne breather kit x2 ( one on the VC and one on the block) ~Suspension~ K Sport 1 piece drag coilovers Omni Power rear lower controle arms DC front upper and rear lower tie bars that i have had foreverr Skunk2 rear upper tie bar GSR rear disc brakes and stock CX fronts with Brembo slotted stock replacement rotors ( kept it CX in the fronts so i can runa 13" rim for slicks) Blox from camber kit ~Rubber~ M/H 24.5" x 8.5" on Bogart 13" x 8" rims ARP extended wheel studs ( i hate these things, u know how long it takes to change rims?) :-\ ~Engine management~ Chipped P28 with eCtune ~Plans and Goals~ 430-450whp on pump gas 750whp on C16 Aiming to get into the 10's on the pump gas tune, and 9's on Kill-Mode. well since 2003 the car has changed a lotttttt.. from Allmotor to , nitrous, to EBAY turbo.. back to all motor..
99-00 front (my friend spun out and wrecked the back of his VSM 99-00 front civic,, so i got his front , and went 99-00.. here are a few pix.. in random order!! the car was running good,, and the ETs were getting lower.. then i moved to the city with my wife.. and started to park the car on the street from time to time.. and this happened!!:(
noo , i didn't feel like taking my car apart and busting up the interior.. ---- got jacked!! Attachment 12464 Attachment 12465 Attachment 12466 it was recovered a month later, with 90% of the parts but all the parts were off the car , and neatly stacked!!:?: me and my wife spent 2 hours putting the motor back in the car ( which was only on by the back bracket and a jack).. thanks baby! :-* |

after recovering the car, i really didn't care about what it looked like,, i just wanted it running!!
and i lost intrest in the car ..untill i drove my friends car!! and he gave me his BOOST VIRUS!!! i build a stock Bore 81mm GSR block with 9:1 CP pistons and Eagle Rods!!
and used the AllMotor head, just swapped out the Crower 403 cams for Stock CTRs!! Attachment 12451 Attachment 12452 Attachment 12453 Attachment 12454 and i pieced together a turbo kit Ful-Race ramhorn manifold (a/c compatable) 3" custom downpipe Tial 40mm gate T3 T67ho turbocharger Hugeee Pruven 1000hp cooler 34" x 12" x4" ( overkill i know, but i got it for a good price) 2.5" charge pipes with a HKS BOV Victor X intake manifold BBK 70mm TB Precision 1000cc injectors GM 3bar map sensor Ls tranny ACT heavy duty PP and 6 puc unsprung disc clutch Fidanza flywheel ( not sure how light or heavy it is) lol AEM fuel rail Walbro 255 intank fuel pump my power goal was 400whp!! back on topic ;D
so now the stock sleeve GSR is in and ready to tune... i looked/asked around for a tuner in the tri-state area... after much thinking ,, i went with Chris@ XENOCRON.. and this is how it went!! got there late (was suposed to be there at 9am). we got lost and even saw a BEARR, like a Yogie but not as friendly BEARRR!!! rarrrr!! got there at about 11am and Chris got to work!! first pass @10psi made 331whp i stepped outside to talk to my wife for 2 minutes,, came back in the shop, and Chris was in the middle of a 2nd pull.. made 344whp... i asked "how much did u turn up the boost?"... he said " i didn't , we are still on 10psi:D he checked the plugs,, then made another pull .. (this time it spiked to 11psi).. and made 381whp he asked me if i wanted to stop there,, im thinking in my head "yea okk, lets keep it going" i told him 15psi or 450whp. and i'll be happy ... being as how this is a PUMP GAS tune!! he shook his head and turned up the boost to 12psi!! started the pull, and the clutch slipped something terrible!! and after another try, he said it was as much as he could do considering the slipping clutch.. so it ended like this 344whp@10psi (which i believe could have been cleaned up a bit, had the boost controller held) 381whp@11psi (was set for 10psi, but spiked to 11psi) oh and we were only revving the car to 8500rpm, coz im -----!! lmaoo dropping valves scare me 10psi pull!! http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/i...h_MVI_8268.jpg http://s267.photobucket.com/albums/i...t=MVI_8268.flv Attachment 12444 |

great #'s.. i was more than happy!! well it was time for a new clutch, and MB Racing cut me a deal on a Competition Clutch stage 5!! went back to Chris.. and this is how it went!! slowly made pulls.. and it was getting around what Chris considers iffy for pump gas.. so at 13.8psi (14psi).. the car made 436whp *the red graph is the same psi but with a failing spring in the gate (crazy ass dipp at around 7100RPM) * the green graph is the same 13.8psi , but with the problem corrected Attachment 12443 this is the lower hp pull http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/i...h_MVI_8734.jpg http://s267.photobucket.com/albums/i...t=MVI_8734.flv |

ok, so everything was going great.. and i decided to buy a back up turbo that will make more power!! i went with a BW Bullseye S366!! (i have seen a few cars make well over 800whp on them) the problem now is that because of the AC compatable manifold.. the turbo was now hitting the block, Radiator and the slave cylinder.. not to mention shitty Downpipe clearance!! the T67 bearly fit as -is. Attachment 12435 so i started to look into getting another manifold.. i was thinking maybe TopMount!! ( they help shorten spool time on larger turbos) i looked everwhereeeeeee, got a few good priced too!! but 3-5 weeks to get it.. because most was on backorder!!! ............................... i called up Roland @ MB Racing to get some hardware (-AN fittings, clamps , couplers, etc).. and while talking to him , i told him my plans and power goals.. i also mentioned what a shittt time i was having finding a manifold!! he said he can make me one.. i had seen a few and they looked good!! ( but no real research on them, or gains or losses) so it was sort of a gamble on my part. i asked how much and how fast ... (he gave me a greattt price, and said it would be made from scratch , custom for my car .. and would take 3-5 days).. to make a long story short,, 7 days later it was delivered to my job in Manhattan . I had to check it in at security because they didn't know what kinda weapon it was, lmaoooo few pix.. T3/T4 topmount manifold, with a free 40mm Tial gate flange!! Ladies and Gents!! well now that i have had the car dialed in .. i didn't have time to make it back to the track to get a ET on it !! But i had a few grudge matches and $$ runs!!.. the car is (4-0) a kid confronted me a day and asked about buying my motor because he was impressed by the way it ran yada yada! after giving be a price i could not turn down,, it was SOLDDDDD!! he got everythinggggggggggggggggggggg! Block Head Cams Camgears Intake manifold and TB injectors rail EVERYTHINGGGGGGGGGG SEPT THE TURBO SET UP!! i even gave him the tune and resisterbox w/ a 3 bar mapsensor!! |

Clutch (Competition Clutch stage 6 lol).. it's the Dual diafram pressure plate with 4 puc sprung!!
PP is good for 400+ foot pound of Tq oh and my new Precision 825hp cooler .. anyone needs a cold beer, because i got a Fridge! Attachment 12413 truth be told the old cooler was bigger,, but had a few bent fins,, so it was sold ! |
