couldn't you get one of those "SPOON Magnetic Oil Pan Plugs," refill the oil, drain it, and clean off all the shavings stuck to the plug?

Yeah, if you want to spend $89.99 on a drain plug.

They sell regular magnetic drain plugs for like $5.00 They just don't say Spoon on the box so they must be an inferior product

Yeah, if it doesn't say "SPOON" it's junk.

Where do they sell those other ones?

I'm pretty sure you can pick them up at any local parts store. My buddy used to have one on his dart (slant 6). After 3,000 miles that plug looked like he threw it on the ground beneath my drill press

lol, I had a Dart with a slant 6. I loved that ******, but hated taking the oil pan off to clear the sludge out every couple hundred miles. I don't know where it came from or why it kept coming back. It blew eventually. I was on my way home with Jack-in-the-box and BAM!
