Upgrading the turbo will be the last thing i do....
I plan on running 18psi on this one at the track on sept 16th...
I have a type S and a eGay VAF adapter and cone filter on it now. just gotta add a nipple since i have a vaccuum hose needing a home
boost controller should be here soon. and Sam said the flange will be here tuesday.

 

Just find a IHI on a thunderbird and swap everything over except the exhaust housing as the flange is different. Nice little upgrade.

bra looks better than the Nasty rust and cracked paint under it, trust me, that was the first thing I was gonna do. aesthetics isnt my main concern with this car...

 

One of my friends had one of those and it was the biggest piece of ----. When he got it the oil lines to the turbo were hacked, the air filter was plugged so bad it wouldn't even start, and when we finally did get it running decently it blew out ridiculous amounts of smoke.

However once it was running half assed-ly it was a fun car for what it was.

There was a feature article in SCC SEVERRRAL years ago an a MX-6 turbo(same gen as your Probe)...That guy had supposedly upgraded his turbo with the compressor wheel from an RX-7 turbocharger. Sorry, I'm not sure what specific RX-7 it was from. Might be something worth looking into. I agree with the previous poster who said you might as well look into another blower if you're gonna fab up a new dp. I don't understand why the MOST of the automobile manufacturer's instisted on putting such small turbo's on relatively high displacement 4-cylinder engine's back in the 80's. Guess it had alot to do with emissions and gas mileage standards

 

They did'nt want it to feel like a turbocharged motor, hard to pull off when you have 7:1 compression.
