what does $275 get you?
A big ------- headache...
Rats nest in air box....
IC piping blown on the way home
Old Intercooler
Oily....
Cleaning, ready to be put back together
Installed a differnt oem intercooler in good shape and runs awesome.
My goals for this car:
200 whp
250 wtq
13.99 on slicks
w/o spending more than 1000 including the price of the car.
I plan on making my own exhaust, IC piping(already have an intercooler), o2 housing, downpipe and upgrading the fuel pump.
In the mail: VAF adapter and cone filter, eprom chip(eliminates 12psi boost limiter and speed limiter) and manual boost controller.

Aren't the turbos on those tiny? Maybee get a little bigger one as you turn up the boost. Nice rig. There are alot of cars like that around that are that age--all oily and in need of some cleaning. At least a dealer did'nt spray it down and sell for 800....

i remember getting spanked by one of those back in the day, back when my Malibu was still stock(even the dirt was stock) & running mid 16s, i thought it was some random dude with a stock Probe ( & thinking this should be a close race), & when we went down the track & he yanked on me hard, i said to myself..."i forgot they made turbo probes" lol, he ran a 14.41 IIRC to my 16.65, haha, finally saw the BFI in the front bumper after the race

hacking off the exhaust(or building a new exhaust with a bigger 02 housing and DP) will net another 1k of powerband supposedly.
There isn't any real easy way to do an upgrade turbo on these things. The only thing I hear of is using a thunderbird compressor on this. But it requires some fuel mods...
Because of the VAF type air- monitoring system rather than a MAF or MAP, these things are GHEY to tune!
I plan on rebuilding the stock turbo, using a johnny racecar double backdoor FMIC I bought on here a while ago for my hatch, 2 1/4" hard piping, and a recirced 1g DSM BOV.
Fortunatly I have the most knowledgable 1g probe expert living in the same town... Holder for record of worlds fastest FWD probe, worlds fastest F2t, and now the holder of the worlds fastest 6 cyliner probe, and fastest stock bottom end n/a 2jZ!(all in the same car)
