Default What do you know about the Garrett from the Sprinter Vans?

I just picked up a used (30k km on it) Garrett turbo from a Dodge Sprinter van over the weekend.

Just wondering if anyone knows the model or any other specs on this thing. Tried to look online, but found very little.

I know that it has adjustable vanes on the exhaust wheel, but that's about it (the turbo was scrapped becasue the solenoid to move the vanes is f'd).

I'll post pics soon.

It's larger than my current turbo, an IHI-RHB5.

The opening for the exhaust downpipe is 3" in diameter.

Its off a diesel so its going to be optimized for high flow. Diesels fuel efficiency and maximum power you can get out of them both depend on how much air you can pack into the cylinders. They are designed to run on a lean fuel mixture at all times and do not need a throttle. This is why you will find they have bigger air filters and intake hoses.
