Yeah it all kinda depends on how much boost you plan on running and what engine the turbo is going on. I have the T3 .60/.48 for my B18b

How much do these rebuild kits typically costs vs. the cost of just getting it professionaly rebuilt? I just picked up one, T3 .60 / .63 last week. It looks great but has a little shaft play.

A rebuild kit is usually pretty inexpensive in comparison to getting it proffesionaly rebuilt. Most people just buy a new turbo when theirs is junk because the cost is about the same to have the junk on rebuilt. But it also depends on how much shaft play is in your turbo also. you say a little... T3's I beleive are supposed to have a little shaft play, but I am not sure what the specs. are until it's junk.
